CS FfD Mechanism's Participation at the FfD4 Multistakeholder Hearing

The Civil Society Financing for Development Mechanism (CS FfD M) actively engaged at the FfD4 Multistakeholder Hearing at the UN Headquarters in New York. This gathering took place October 28 and 29, bringing together civil society organizations, UN representatives, and member states to advance the FfD agenda

Highlights:

• October 27: Preparatory Meeting for Civil Society
  We welcomed newcomers with an introductory session that provided context on the FfD process, key areas of advocacy, and tips for meaningful engagement during the events to follow. This was a valuable collective coordination opportunity and a moment to reinforce collective goals.

• October 28: Multistakeholder Hearings
  The main event featured dynamic dialogues on critical development issues. CS FfD representatives joined discussions to address systemic barriers to financing, and shared innovative solutions and civil society perspectives to guide the way forward. Interventions from our representatives highlighted the importance of inclusive and accountable financing mechanisms that prioritize the needs of marginalized communities.

• October 29: Side Events
  A series of side events offered a deeper dive into key issues like debt justice, private sector accountability, and climate finance. These sessions enabled us to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders and explore practical steps for implementing solutions discussed during the main hearings.
